Simplifying healthcare benefits for small businesses
Most people are familiar with the traditional approach to healthcare benefits through large, well-known companies. Sometimes it’s the right fit for a company, but often it’s not, especially if they have fewer than 100 employees. We explore all the options available, show you transparent pricing for each component, and help you create the best plan for your company.
We believe transparency is important in healthcare and in business. We don’t push any specific model, but instead we evaluate the different approaches below to help you decide what’s best for your company and your employees.
Direct Primary Care
Direct primary care (DPC) is a flat monthly fee that covers most of your primary care needs with a specific provider or provider group. DPC is a great way for small companies to provide basic healthcare benefits at a much lower cost than traditional insurance plans, plus it can be used in combination with other plans to reduce overall costs.
Self-funded plans
Self-funded or self-insured plans mean the company takes on the financial risk of covering employee healthcare needs, which means more flexibility in plan design and greater control over healthcare costs. In this model, the company pays only for healthcare services used, rather than paying traditional premiums that cover a wide range of services that may not get used.
Level-funded plans
Level-funded health plans provide similar flexibility as a self-funded plan but at a fixed monthly fee for the employer rather than a variable cost. They can be a good option for employers who want to move away from a fully insured plan but aren’t quite ready for a self-funded plan.
Fully insured plans
Fully insured plans are the traditional approach that most people are familiar with when it comes to employer-provided healthcare benefits. It’s an option we will explore and potentially recommend, because sometimes it’s the right fit for a company.
Dental, vision, and supplemental
Yes, we can help with dental, vision, and supplemental insurance options like accident insurance, hospital coverage, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability. As with other healthcare benefits, we’ll explore multiple options and provide transparent pricing to help you build the right combination of benefits for your employees.
Pharmacy benefits
Prescription coverage is an important part of any benefits package, and most employers don’t realize they have a choice when it comes to their pharmacy benefits manager (PBM). When creating a custom benefits package with our team, you get to choose your PBM.
